Our premium Equestrian Sand is a high-grade, quartz-based silica sand ideal for horse arenas, lunge pens, and rolling pits. Carefully selected for its sub-rounded particles, this non-abrasive material offers a safe and supportive surface that’s gentle on hooves and eyes – making it a trusted choice for both riders and animals.
Naturally free-draining and low maintenance, this arena sand retains just enough moisture to prevent dust while avoiding waterlogging – allowing year-round use, even in the British weather. It provides a soft yet stable footing with just the right level of compaction to cushion impact and reduce injury risk without creating a “deep” ride.
Perfect on its own, or easily enhanced with rubber crumb or fibre for jumping arenas where a springier, more cushioned surface is needed. Rubber is particularly recommended for long-term durability, improved insulation, and better freeze resistance.
Typical installation depth for equestrian surfaces is 100–130mm.
